Our Mission

We foster the strengths within youth to achieve their full potential and empower them to pursue a life without limits.

At Tims Camps, we have been supporting kids from disadvantaged circumstances for over 46 years.

Whether at camp partcipating in one of our programs or back home in their communities between visits – our youth work to build social, emotional, leadership and innovation skills and behaviours like volunteerism and motivation to learn so they become civically and academically engaged, and successfully transition to adulthood.

With seven camps across North America that run year-round Summer and School Programs, Tim Hortons Foundation Camps invests in youth from every Tim Hortons community, and is entirely funded by restaurant owners, guests, and sponsors through Tim Hortons Camp Day, fundraising events, and year-round donations collected through restaurant coin boxes.

More than 300,000 kids have attended a Tims Camp for a transformative experience at no cost to them or their families.

We are committed to serving disadvantaged youth from every Tim Hortons community in Canada and the US. Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners in these communities – in partnership with local organizations, and the public – play a critical role in selecting youth from disadvantaged circumstances who would benefit from our multi-year youth development Summer Program.

Since 1974, more than 300,000+ youth have participated in our programs at no cost to them or their families.

Tims Camps operates 3 distinct programs in service to our mission. Click a program to learn more about how it serves our mission and the youth it impacts each year:

Summer Program

Youth ages 12-16 (9-days, five consecutive summers)

School Program

Grades 6-8 (two, 3-day camp visits)

Tims eCamp

Launched in Summer 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Our Tims Camps Outcomes Framework is focused on developing critical life skills – like resilience, persistence and responsibility – that help youth from low-income homes thrive and transition successfully to adulthood.

Using rigorous research practices through camper and teacher impact surveys, we measure our campers’ progress on key youth development outcomes, and then use these results to learn and make adjustments to our program ensuring we’re meeting the needs of the campers we serve.

Our key outcome indicators are categorized into 3 main groups; Social & Emotional Skills, Learning & Innovation Skills, and Positive Contributions. Learn more about them and see our recent outcome reports by visiting Our Impact page.

Since 1974, our programming has undergone regular evaluation and development in response not only to changing times and challenges, but also the results and learnings made from implementing our programming.

The latest such evolution was the development of Tims eCamp in summer 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. More then 2,600 youth and 100+ counsellors broke ground on a trailblazing digital initiative to bring camp & community together online when being in person was not possible.
