Tim Hortons Camp DayCamp Day was Wednesday, August 12th, 2020
Wednesday, August 12th marked the 30th anniversary of Tim Hortons Camp Day in support of the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Camp Day 2020 certainly looked different due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but thanks to the support of Tim Hortons restaurant owners, team members, sponsors and the public, we were able to raise nearly $11 million!
The proceeds from all hot coffee, iced coffee and bracelet sales were donated to Tims Camps. These funds will go towards helping kids from disadvantaged circumstances attend our life-changing, multi-year camp program.
Since we weren’t able to camp out with our campers this year, Tims Camps decided to #CampInForCampDay! This all new peer-to-peer fundraiser challenged our supporters to set up an at-home campsite in their backyard, living room, basement, or other safe location and snap a picture for social media.
In total, 102 participants set up a fundraising page and accumulated 554 donations, totaling over $40,000!
Tims Camps and the Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation teamed up for an online 50/50
The Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, in partnership with the Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation, ran a virtual 50/50 draw in support of Camp Day. Proceeds from the 50/50 draw helped youth who need it most, with the money being split between Tims Camps and the Hamilton Bulldogs breakfast program.
The draw raised thousands of dollars to help youth from disadvantaged circumstances attend one of our camp experiences!
Camp Day History
For a 24 hour period in May 1987, 58 stores in the Atlantic Provinces donated their entire day’s sales to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation in support of the Tim Horton Children’s Camp in Tatamagouche NS raising over $131,000.
In 1991, Camp Day expanded across the Tim Hortons chain and the official campaign name was established.
This becomes an annual event at Tim Hortons stores from coast to coast in Canada. Over $500,000 was raised in the inaugural year. Camp Day has grown to be the largest single-day fundraiser of it’s kind in Canada thanks to the generous support of Tim Hortons guests.
On August 12th, 2020 we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Camp Day.
