Camp Counsellors

Camp Counsellors are at the core of delivering on our mission. In our residential camp settings, they participate with campers in a variety of daily activities as catalysts, leaders, supporters, and above all, as role models. They are directly responsible for the well-being of the children entrusted to our care, and for helping them develop lifelong skills.
Basic qualifications for Camp Counsellors:
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search, if applicable
- Minimum 18 years of age at the time of employment
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada or the U.S. (based on camp location)
We also look for the following qualifications:
- Experience working with youth
- National Lifeguard/Bronze Cross or equivalent certifications are considered assets
- Belief in a child-centred approach
- A spirit of positivity, compassion and fun
These are residential positions that include full on-site accommodations and meals.
French language is required at our Camp des Voyageurs Tim Hortons Camp location to deliver French programming.
Facilitators

Our Program Facilitators deliver recreational and educational programming, specific to each camp location and their unique program areas. Our Facilitators model the Foundation’s values and encourage campers to develop positive skills and beliefs about themselves and their abilities.
In addition to meeting our basic qualifications, Program Facilitators also possess role-specific certifications for the program area they are working in, as well as experience facilitating group activities.
Common certifications we look for include:
- National Lifeguard (Lifesaving Society/American Red Cross)
- Bronze Cross (Lifesaving Society)
- Wilderness First Aid or equivalent 36 hour course
- Wilderness First Responder or equivalent 80 hour course
- ACCT, Level 1 and 2
Opportunities on the program team vary by camp location and include the following:
- Activity Facilitators
- Horse Wranglers
- Overnight Facilitators
- Challenge Course Facilitators
- Waterfront Facilitators (Lifeguards)

French language is required at our Camp des Voyageurs Tim Horton location to deliver French programming.
Program Coordinators

Program Coordinators are key in supporting the successful execution of Tims Camps Programs based on the outcome framework, curriculum, and standards. They provide support with the coaching, training and supervision of program staff to drive the creation of a supportive and inclusive experience for campers to discover, use and develop their skill sets.
Program Coordinators are typically positions that include accommodations and meals.
French language is required at our Camp des Voyageurs Tim Horton location to deliver French programming.
Wellness

During our Summer Camp programming, each camp has an on-site wellness team designed to support the
health and well-being of the campers and staff. Wellness Coordinators and Assistants run the
wellness centre at each camp. Our Camper Support Specialists provide on-going coaching and support
to camp staff as it relates to meeting camper needs, while ensuring a safe and successful camp
experience. We look for wellness staff who have experience working with children and young adults,
and who believe in a child-centred approach.
In addition to meeting our basic qualifications, our wellness team must also have the following
qualifications:
- Wellness Coordinator (Camp Nurse)
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), or equivalent,
in the respective province/state - Wilderness First Aid is considered an asset
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), or equivalent,
- Wellness Assistant (Student Nurse)
- Currently enrolled in a BScN, RN or RPN program, or equivalent, from an accredited
college or university - Experience working under the direction of a nurse is a strong asset
- Camper Support Specialist
- Completed degree in social work or a diploma in child and youth work
- Experience working with children and youth in a professional mental health setting

Food Service Staff

Each of our camps provide nutritious meals and snacks for up to 200 people, primarily children, on a daily basis. The food service team creates a wide variety of food to meet a range of dietary requirements and restrictions. The ability to follow directions, meet tight schedules and work as part of a team are key to success in these positions. We look for individuals who have a range of experience in the food service industry, as well as cooking credentials.
Roles within the food service team include:
- Food Service Assistant
- Prep Cook
- Cook
Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
Maintenance

Roles within the maintenance team include:
- Maintenance Assistant
- Maintenance Specialist
- Seasonal Maintenance Assistant
Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
Housekeeper

The housekeeping team in each camp provides cleaning services for each of the buildings on-site including the office, guest rooms, and staff and camper accommodations. They are responsible for managing the inventory of cleaning supplies throughout the camp, and providing laundry services. Often working to tight deadlines to accommodate the camper schedules for arrival and departure, these positions require attention to detail and strong time management and organizational skills.
Experience in the hotel or resort industry is considered an asset.
Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
Camp Administration

The Camp Administrator will provide exceptional customer service and manage various administrative tasks at camp. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, coordinating travel and accommodations, and supporting campers and families. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset. Please note French language is required at our Camp des Voyageurs Tim Horton.
Camp Management

Our Camp Management team is dedicated to providing leadership that aligns with our mission of empowering youth from underserved communities. Managers work collaboratively to ensure the camp operates smoothly and safely, fostering an environment where campers can develop social, emotional, leadership, and innovation skills. Managers ensure that each camper has a positive, enriching, and transformative experience, helping them to achieve their full potential and become engaged, successful adults.

Home Office Staff

Located in beautiful St. George, Ontario, also home of Tim Horton Onondaga Farms, our Home Office is responsible for supporting our camps in delivering on our mission.
